Acceptance and eligibility
These Terms of Service (the "Terms") form a legal agreement between you and Compare Pet Coverage ("we," "us," "our"). By accessing or using comparepetcoverage.com (the "site"), you confirm that you've read these Terms, understand them, and agree to be bound by them. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.
You must be at least 18 years old to use the site. If you're under 18, you may only use the site under the supervision of a parent or legal guardian who has read and agreed to these Terms on your behalf.
If you're using the site on behalf of an organization, you're confirming that you have the authority to bind that organization to these Terms.

About the site
Compare Pet Coverage is an independent content website that publishes articles, comparisons, and guides for pet parents. We don't manufacture, sell, distribute, or insure any of the products or services we write about. We're not a veterinary practice, a licensed insurance broker, or a financial advisor.
The site is free to read. We may earn affiliate commissions when readers purchase products or services through certain links — see Section 4 below for details.

Our content is for general informational and educational purposes only. It is not, and should not be treated as, professional advice of any kind — including veterinary, medical, legal, financial, insurance, or tax advice.
If your pet is sick, injured, or in distress
Stop reading and contact your veterinarian immediately. For after-hours emergencies, contact a 24/7 emergency animal hospital. For poisoning, call the ASPCA Animal Poison Control Center at 888-426-4435 or the Pet Poison Helpline at 855-764-7661 (fees may apply). Do not delay or avoid contacting a qualified veterinarian because of anything you read on this site.
For insurance, financial, or legal questions
Our articles describe how things generally work — they don't tell you what to do in your specific situation. For insurance policy questions, contact the insurer directly or speak with a licensed agent. For legal or financial decisions, consult a qualified professional licensed in your jurisdiction.
Accuracy
We make a real effort to publish accurate, up-to-date information, and we re-verify key facts on a regular schedule. Even so, things change. Insurer policies, prices, statistics, and product availability can shift after we publish. We don't warrant that any specific article is current, complete, or correct, and we may update or remove content at any time without notice.
Any decisions you make based on our content are your own, and you accept full responsibility for those decisions.

Affiliate income helps us keep the site free and ad-free. We don't accept payment to write positive coverage of any product, and our editorial opinions are our own — we'll say a product isn't worth it when we think it isn't, regardless of whether we earn a commission.

The site and all of its content — including articles, images, illustrations, logos, design, and code — are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
What you can do

What you can't do
- Copy, republish, or redistribute substantial portions of our content without prior written permission
- Scrape the site, use automated tools to access content at scale, or attempt to bypass any technical limits we've set
- Reproduce our logo, brand name, or trade dress in a way that suggests endorsement or affiliation we haven't agreed to
- Use our content to train machine learning or AI models without explicit written permission
- Attempt to interfere with the site's operation, security, or other users' access — including by introducing malware, attempting to gain unauthorized access, or overloading our infrastructure
- Use the site for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law

Including a link or mention does not mean we endorse, are affiliated with, or vouch for the third party (unless we explicitly say so). When you visit a third-party site or buy a third-party product or service, your interaction is governed by the third party's own terms and privacy policy, which you should read before engaging.

Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Compare Pet Coverage and its owners, employees, contractors, and affiliates are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages — including damages for lost profits, lost data, harm to your pet, or any other intangible losses — arising out of or relating to your use of the site, your reliance on its content, or any decisions you make based on it, even if we've been advised of the possibility of such damages.
Where liability cannot be excluded by law, our total cumulative liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to the site or these Terms is limited to the greater of (a) the total amount you paid us (if any) in the twelve months before the claim, or (b) one hundred U.S. dollars ($100).
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any third-party claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of your use of the site, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any applicable law or third-party right.
Some jurisdictions don't allow the exclusion or limitation of certain warranties or damages — in those jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.

Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Indiana, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or your use of the site will be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Clark County, Indiana, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect. Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms is not a waiver of that right or provision.

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we may also note them on the homepage.
Your continued use of the site after an update means you accept the revised Terms. If you don't agree with the changes, please stop using the site.
